During the summer months, thousands of facial injuries occur to people of all aeye_injuryges. Taking some basic precautions can minimize long lasting facial injuries, prevent costly medical problems and allow people to enjoy the summer injury-free.

During the summer months, thousands of facial injuries occur to people of all ages while participating in favorite summer time activities such as swimming, playing baseball, basketball, bike riding, or just outdoor fun. These injuries can range from simple lacerations to facial fractures such as broken cheek bones and noses.
 
By taking some basic precautions you can minimize long lasting facial injuries, prevent costly medical problems and concentrate on simply enjoy summer time activities injury-free.
 

Tips to Prevent Summertime Facial Injuries


  • Use the right equipment that fits the outdoor activity
  • Pay attention
  • Follow the rules
  • If you bike, wear a helmet.
  • Don't wear clothing that can interfere with your vision
  • Wear a face mask or eye protection if needed.
  • Do not dive in water less than 9 feet deep or in above-ground pools.
  • Avoid uneven or unpaved surfaces when cycling, skateboarding or in-line skating.
  • In summer, the most dangerous team sport for facial injuries is baseball, including softball. If you play either consider wearing a helmut when batting, and protective mouth and teeth gear.
  • In baseball, try to not slide head-first.
