What are RSS Feeds? The new method for easily distributing online content is often called a web feed and the technical format that makes it possible is called RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary.
RSS is based on XML, a widely used standard for textual information
exchange between applications on the Internet. RSS allows content from one site to be republished
(syndicated) by another. RSS feeds can be viewed
as plain text files, but they're really designed for
computer-to-computer communication. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to be alerted (using rss reader software) when your favorite websites -- like MuscleMagFitness.com -- are updated without having to check them manually. All you have to do is have a rss reader installed on your computer (most are free) and place the rss feed url of your choice into the reader and it will take care of the rest.
